9 DAY DRAGON DESIGN BOOTCAMP WITH GABRIEL QUINN!!! (July 11th - 20th)

Dragons have been and will always be one of the most dynamic and powerful narrative symbols in myth and fantasy. Dragons were the first thing I started drawing when I was a kid and remain to be an all time favorite of mine, I’m sure many of you can relate.

The technical and theoretical challenge of designing, sketching, and painting dragons remains a large barrier to beginner and advanced artists alike. This 9 day bootcamp will unlock the knowledge, process, and technical skills to take your designs and illustrations to the highest level.

9 DAY SCHEDULE:

1. Fri 11th - Opening remarks and lecture 1 - “what are dragons and why do we care?”
2. Sat 12th - extended 4 hour workshop on dragon anatomy, structure, and shape design.
3. Sun 13th - extended 4 hour workshop on design appeal, narrative, and style.
4. Mon 14th - Lecture 2 - “composition, how to make things look huge, and some notes on designing with light”
5. Tues 15th - Lecture 3 - “iterating on your design, experimenting, and how to work backwards effectively”
6. Wed 16th - Check in and review session. Submit your work in progress designs and illustrations for live review and ask any questions in an open Q&A
7. Thurs 17th - Lecture 4 - “understanding rendering, designing with material in mind, and how to make things look finished.”
8. Fri 18th - Wrap up session! Work to finish your designs, ask questions in a live Q&A session, receive live feedback, and submit your work!
9. Sat 19th - all day design jam (starting at 11AM EDT)!!! Join your peers in a fun design jam where all participants will be using their new knowledge and insight to create designs and drawings that are a part of a unified project!
10. Sun 20th - All day design jam part 2 (starting at 11AM EDT)!!!!! Continue where you left off from the day before and bring your ideas to a close. This session will conclude with final remarks, reflections, and goal setting with your new peers!

Lectures will be 2.5 hours long and will start at 11:00AM and end at 1:30PM (EDT). all lectures and demos will be recorded and made available to participants after the end of the bootcamp.

Assignment postings, submissions, and questions will be posted in the discord server for this bootcamp.

The lectures and demos will take place on zoom. Q&As will take place within the bootcamp discord server.
